Before You Replace It

Lateral Field Jetting

Lateral field jetting starts at $1,800, compared with an average of around $20,000 for a full septic system replacement. About 95% of the lateral fields we've jetted have come back to working order, so it's worth trying before you replace the system.

The Numbers

What Jetting Costs and What You Get

Price
From $1,800

Final cost depends on the number and length of the lines in your field.

Timeline
Usually 1 day

Done in a day rather than a week.

Permits
No new permits

We're cleaning the field you already have, not building a new one.

Track record

The 95% is our own track record, not a promise. Some fields are genuinely past saving.

Why Fields Fail

A Plugged Field Isn't Always a Dead Field

When a lateral field stops taking water, most people are told the same thing: the field is shot, time for a whole new system. That's not always true. Years of sludge and biomat build up inside the lines and choke them off — and a lot of the time, that buildup can be cleaned out instead of dug up.

The usual answer
Full system replacement
around $20,000

Average cost of a new system, plus permits, inspection and a torn-up yard.

Worth trying first
Jet the existing field
from $1,800

Usually done in a single day, with no new permits and no torn-up yard.

How It Goes

How a Jetting Job Works

  1. Tell us what the field is doing

Call 816-549-1712 or send the quote form. We'll talk through whether your field sounds like a candidate for jetting.

  2. We jet the lines

We run high-pressure water through the lateral lines to break loose and flush out the buildup.

  3. We check the results

We re-evaluate how the field takes water, so you know where it stands.

  4. If it's past saving

Some fields are. Then we quote a lateral field or full system replacement, designed around your yard, soil and system.

Once the field is working again, a Septic Care Plan keeps filters clean and tank levels checked on a schedule.

Good Questions

Lateral Field Jetting FAQ

My lateral field is failing — do I have to replace the whole system?

Not necessarily. A lot of failing fields are simply plugged with years of buildup, and high-pressure jetting can clear the lines and get the field taking water again for a fraction of the cost of a replacement. About 95% of the fields we have jetted have come back to working order. We cannot promise it every time — some fields really are past saving — but it is worth an evaluation before you commit to a new system.

How much does lateral field jetting cost?

Jetting starts at $1,800. The final cost depends on the number and length of the lines in your field. A full septic system replacement, by comparison, averages around $20,000.

How long does jetting take?

It's usually done in a day, and it doesn't need new permits.

What happens if jetting doesn't fix my field?

Some fields really are past saving. If yours is, we'll give you a personalized quote for a lateral field repair or replacement. Each field is uniquely designed to the yard, soil and system.
